Best Breakfast Burritos To Go
As a life-long Albuquerque local, one of the foods I miss most when I travel is a good breakfast burrito. There is something so satisfying about the combination of a warm flour tortilla, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, melted cheese, and New Mexico green chile - especially when they’re all wrapped up and easy to eat on the go.
Whether you're heading out to hike, explore Old Town, or hit the road, here are three of my favorite places to find this New Mexican classic breakfast wrapped and ready to enjoy on the go.
1. Golden Pride
This is my family’s personal favorite breakfast burrito. They’re smaller than some others. But they’re served on freshly made tortillas and with the most delicious roasted green chile. I always order the #9 (eggs, hash browns, cheese, bacon, and green chile). But they have many combinations to choose from. I also love their carne adovada, which is pork slow-cooked in red chile. Order the sweet roll too! You can thank me later.
Golden Pride is part of the same restaurant family as Frontier Restaurant. While Frontier is known for its sit-down meals, Golden Pride is the go-to for a burrito wrapped up and ready to take with you.
Our tip: Breakfast is served all day, so there's no need to rush out the door first thing.

2. Blake’s Lotaburger
You might not assume that a place best known for it’s chile cheeseburger would be the place to get breakfast. But Blake’s makes one of the best breakfast burritos in town. Their burritos are big and filled with flavor.
With locations throughout Albuquerque (and one close to Stay), it's a convenient choice for early risers heading out for a day of adventure.
Our tip: If you’re not a big breakfast person, this burrito will be big enough to share.

3. Little Anita’s
Little Anita’s is hard to miss if you’re exploring the Old Town area. It’s right on the corner of Mountain and Rio Grande. But it’s worth noting that they have a separate walk-up take-out section around the building from their main entrance. It would be an easy walk from Stay to pop in and grab a New Mexican breakfast to take back and enjoy at your casita.
Our tip: You could even try a breakfast bowl if you’re not set on a burrito.

A Few Local Tips
Red or green? Green chile is bright and fresh; red chile has a deeper, earthier flavor.
Can't decide? Order Christmas to get both.
Ask about the heat. Chile can range from mild to spicy.
Check hours before you go. Breakfast hours and takeaway options vary by location.
